Hey CFM!
So as most of you know in just about a month I will be riding the Tri-State Trek 270 miles from Boston to New York to raise money and awareness for ALS. Many of you guys have been asking me what its all about or how you can donate, so here’s some info on what I’m doing. I originally joined Team America last year for the Trek in support of my best friend Christina Muccio who lost her father to ALS in 2008 after a 10 year battle. This year there was no question that I was returning to the Trek because the experience absolutely changed my life. I met the most kind-hearted and uplifting friends and families of those affected by ALS, but most importantly met some absolutely inspiring patients of ALS. Throughout the ride I was completely humbled and brought to tears numerous times by the many different stories of strength and heroism the members of this community had to tell.
For those of you who don’t know, Amyotropic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS, Lou Gehrig’s disease) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that leads to paralysis, due to the death of motor neurons in the spinal cord and brain. There is no known cure for the disease and no effective treatment.
The Tri-State Trek is an annual event created and produced by the ALS Therapy Development Institute (ALS TDI) which is the world’s largest ALS research center. In the past ten years, riders and volunteers of the Tri-State Trek have raised more than $3 million.
I am reaching out in hopes that you will join me in finding a treatment for ALS. If you are interested in donating, to this cause please follow the link below to my page and find all the necessary information there. Any and all donations are welcome, every effort counts! I am also selling awareness wrist bands for $2 if anyone is interested, all proceeds go towards Team America.

Thank you all so much for your support!
